now, the big rage in public education is instilling critical thinking skills from kindergarten on up.. and i'm in texas!
imagine what it's like in more liberal areas.. i would not be surprised if the watchtower started denigrating and discouraging public education (k-12).. it would likely start like this: .
A kid in my old cong went to that newsystem school. it's garbage. his dad told me it was great because his kid didn't have to take algebra because it's a waste of time lol. yes, a basic form of math is a waste of time. they did little dances and social things. they even got class rings and had a graduation ceremony.
long story short, he graduated at 16, pioneered for a couple years, got married at like 18 or 19. good thing he works for his dad.
may be some of you will be shocked by this question.
however, when i was studying the bible with critical eyes i detected that paul ( or saul of tarsus) misquoted the hebrew bible in order to get false support for his arguments.
of course, this tricky kind of use of the "scriptures" was not only used by him, but others, like the author of the gospel of matthew got unsupported doctrines misquoting verses.

are you a fan of harper lee's "to kill a mockingbird"?
i read the book as a child and have read it many times since.
miss lee obviously wrote the book to entertain us, and she accomplished that.
Well the lawyers and publishers basically took advantage of a senile old lady to get the book published.
Also, Watchman is quite literally a rough draft of what became To Kill A Mockingbird.
I will not purchase or read it.
as a matter of fact, he plans on bringing out info to the lowell city council as to how much of a positive impact the conventions were, that were held in the city.
evidently, a lot of money was brought in to the city's restaurants and lodging.. go witnesses!!!

well, our sister congregation just had their co visit this past week.
on saturday afternoon, i was talking to a couple of ministerial servants in that congregation and they stated that an unmarried brother is not fulfilling to the max what jehovah wants of us.
they stated that the co went on a tirade that if you are unmarried you are being selfish and not following what jehovah wanted for mankind since he created eve as a compliment for the man.
what we can read in the wt 10/15/2015... they have really no shame!.

ok bear with me for second on this one..... i was just reading the other day about "pitchf/x", a type of technology that can accurately track whether a pitch in baseball is a ball or a strike.. a couple of analysts went over 6 years of baseball data.. it turns out that umpires are wrong about balls & strikes about 14% of the time.
what they call a "ball" is really a "strike" about 13% of the time, and what they call a "strike" is really a "ball" about 15% of the time.
here is the article.. that's at the major league level.. umpires have to work their way up to the major leagues, just as players do.
